I have an ASUS EEE and I can not recomment it at all. It booting takes 5min minimum and anything you do in windows has a big delay.
Not recommended for users who have a PII or above, because they are much faster then ASUS EEE.
Netbooks are primarily used for checking email, surfing, chatting and basic computer applications–not games, as their graphics are usually the bare minimum to keep costs low.
They are generally smaller, so that they weigh less and are more portable; most do have Windows but some run Linux.
There may be more benefits for you to get a laptop, especially when Dell’s 15-inch Inspiron is only $499, and offer expansions for gaming.
Good luck and best wishes!
Netbooks have displays less than 10.2 inches, they do not have a cd rom drive, they usually use a low power processor like the Atom, and they usually have smaller keyboards. They are designed for mobility, and longer battery life.
Netbooks are not meant for playing games, and without a CD Rom, you really dont have any way of installing games unless you buy an external drive. They also do not have the processing and graphics power to handle much gaming.
The main difference is raw power. Netbooks were designed to be cheaper and more energy efficient, therefore having a lot less processing power etc than of a regular laptop.
So games will definitely be out on a netbook if you are wanting to play any modern ones. If it is just IM chatting, essay writing, web surfing stuff like that then netbooks are the ones to go for.
I would recommend:
Netbook - Asus Eee PC 1000HE
Laptop - Any Dell XPS (within your price range)
