Im assuming their record, and the wildcard? But in the case of the AL Boston and the Yankees wont play eachother (this is assuming they get there) but how do they decide who will play the Angels and who will play the Indians?

    the team with the best record plays the wild card team. the second best team plays the third best team. If the wild card team and the team with the best record are in the same division, they cannot play each other and therefore it would be the team with the best record vs. the third team and the second team vs. the wild card team
