Play is the girl Dream Street minus one member or Dream wannabes. Besides that, these girls are pure pop. They are a kick a** girl group. They may be 12-13 but they’ve got the attitude and potential. Good job! I usually don’t like pure pop but they’re an exception. Here’s a review of their songs:
‘Us Against the World’-watch ‘Holiday in the Sun’ to see them perform this. That’s the first time a lot of us has heard this song
    ‘Boys Lie’-true message
‘I Don’t Get Down Like That’-reminds me of a Dream song
‘To Live and to Die For’-can relate to this song–LOVE IT!
    ‘Is it Love’-can relate

What i’m saying is buy this CD-SINGLE and ‘Holiday in the Sun’ soundtrack. They’re both REALLY AWESOME!

Play - Us Against The World - CD SINGLE

Play is an amazing girl group consisting of four girls; Rosie - 13, Anais -13, Faye - 13 and Anna - 12. They sing so much beyond their years. I actually bought this cd single after I bought their full album because that’s when I realized that these girls have awesome talent. The lead singer Faye is so talented at singing, she should go solo after she’s done with Play. Here’s a track listing of the songs

Us Against The World -3:41 - (Grade: A) This is their first single and one of the best songs on the album. The meaning of the song is really good and the lyrics are great too. The whole thing is really upbeat and danceable. Even better is the singing and the music. They sing it like they’re young adults. They sing this so well. I don’t think any other band could sing it better. But the only thing that I really don’t like about this song is that they repeat the chorus too many times. The chorus is said 8 times while most bands/singers have it 4. It’s still a great song but 8 times can get a little too much.

    Boys Lie - Clip - Time: 1:06 - Grade - A+
Although I am a boy, I really love this song, I wish they would have added this song on the album or replaced it with a different song like Disco Hippie. The lyrics are really well written, I like when they say: If you’re an angel, I don’t see wings, I think you’re after just one thing. Play is basically saying all guys pretend to be someone else and tell them what they want to hear, but eventually they become their usual pig selves. Which I don’t agree with, but I love this song so much, it’s a shame it wasn’t put on the album which only has seven songs anyways so why couldn’t they put a couple more on?

I Don’t Get Down Like That - Clip - Time: 1:06 - Grade: B+ Anais and Faye sing the lead in this one. Another great song by Play. It’s a good message going through, and a pretty important one at that. You don’t get to hear the whole thing, but even if you don’t like this clip, you’ll probably like the whole song, and the rest of the single and album. This is a fun song to listen to. The chorus has really good lyrics that creep into your head.. This is basically telling a boy to slow down, and quit making all the moves that he’s trying because for the girls of Play, they just won’t work and won’t be tolerated one bit. So it’s a good song that represents the girls really well.

To Live And To Die For - Clip - Time of Clip: 1:25 - Grade: A
When I heard the first 20 seconds of the clip, I didn’t think it would be that great, but you have to give the whole clip a chance. The chorus is great and my favorite part is when Faye goes: There’s so much I SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU BUT I WAS AFRAID! She hits a really good note there. The meaning of the song is really good also. I also wish this song would have been on the album. I think it should have replaced Hopelessly Devoted. Play’s songs are really great and 3 out of seven of their songs on their debut album are songs that have been used before: Cinderella, Hopelessly Devoted, and I’m Gonna Make You Love Me. Cinderella and I’m Gonna Make You Love Me are great but this one just doesn’t do that well with Play. They should have used this song instead. It’s an awesome song and I’m looking everywhere to find the full version of this and the song Boys Lie.

    Is It Love - Clip - Time: 1:11 - Grade: B -
This is another one of my favorites. The way it’s song is just awesome. You can just tell by listening to this song that they had fun recording it. The music makes the song seem sad, but it’s not. I really like the music in this song. This song will probably be one of Play’s singles. It’s really addicting, once you’re done playing it, you want to listen to it again. The chorus would have to be the best part. The lyrics are another bonus to this song, so like “Cinderella” And “Us Against The World” this has a lot of good qualities about it.
