A network is functionally the same as any laptop or desktop. What makes a network significantly different is the power of its components. Netbooks have much less memory, much smaller hard drives, and much slower processors than even base-model laptops and desktops. Therefore, they are less powerful than notebooks/laptops and desktops. Netbooks generally are too small to have their own built in CD/DVD drives, and often times do not have the same types expansion card slots or any at all, or as many USB and other ports, because they are just too small. The OS’s (Operating Systems) that can run on netbooks are essentially slimmed down versions of the same OS’s that run on laptops and desktops.
Connecting a netbook to the Internet is the same as connecting any other computer. The procedure to connect a netbook to the Internet will depend on the OS and network drivers that it is using.
