Does the Lord Play? in the Three Religions

January 23rd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in sports

Before dealing with the topic of the PLAY in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is mandatory to remember that the total words in the Bible are 788,280 while the total words in the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible is more than 10 times the Quran word-wise. The PLAY is mentioned 45 times in the Bible (KJV) and 19 times in the Quran, i.e. the Bible mentions the PLAY more than two times as does the Quran. In other words, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times (word-wise) and more than twice (subject-wise) than the Quran to talk about the PLAY.

In this series, the topic of the Play is classified into six parts, herein is the first part, that is Does the Lord play?

Does the Lord play? In the Bible:

The Lord said that the backsliding Israel, played the harlot

Jeremiah 3:6

The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.

Hosea 4:15

Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The Lord liveth.

The evil spirit from the Lord (God) was upon Saul

1 Samuel 19:9

And the evil spirit from the Lord was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.

1 Samuel 16:23

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

1 Samuel 18:10

And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul’s hand.

David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord.

2 Samuel 6:5

And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.

2 Samuel 6:21

And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord.

1 Chronicles 13:8

And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

David was dancing and playing but Michal despised him in her heart.

1 Chronicles 15:29

And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that Michal, the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

Let the Lord command to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on a harp in order to calm down the evil spirit from the Lord.

1 Samuel 16:16

Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.

1 Samuel 16:18

Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.

The Lord does that which seemeth him good.

2 Samuel 10:12

Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the Lord does that which seemeth him good.

when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.

2 Kings 3:15

But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.

Does the Lord play? In the Quran:

Allah created the heavens and the earth (and us) NOT in PLAY!

Surah: 21, Verse: 16

It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them.

Surah: 44, Verse: 38

And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play.

It is the People who are playing even when listening to their Lord’s message(s).

Surah: 21, Verse: 2

there comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord, except that they play with it as they listen

Herein is an example of a conversation between a Messenger and his people:

Surah: 21, Verse: 55-56

55] They said: ‘Is it the truth you have brought us, or are you one of those that play? ‘

56] ‘no, ‘ he answered, ‘your lord is the lord of the heavens and the earth, the originator of them, and i am among those bearing witness to it.

Herein is a question from Allah to whom who it may concern:

Surah: 23, Verse: 115

Did you think that We had created you only for play, and that you would never be returned to Us? ‘

Top Three Tips in Finding the Right Toys For Kids

January 23rd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in toys

If you are a parent, doting aunt or uncle, older sibling, family friend, or do-gooder who simply wants to make a tiny tot happy, you may have experienced or are experiencing dilemmas when it comes to finding the right toys for children. There are plenty of children’s toys lined up in store shelves and neatly stacked on display tables that choosing ones that are safe, age-appropriate, enjoyable and educational can be very challenging.

Different kids have different interests, and different toys match different age groups. With a multitude of options and factors to consider, searching for the right toy can become a tedious task instead of an exciting activity. Now, where do you begin?

Toys are meant to be fun items to play with, so scouting for them must also be a fun event. Buying playthings for kids can be truly entertaining as long as you know what to look for. Take time to think about what kind of toy you wish to give a youngster. A little wisdom goes a long way when it comes to giving toys to little ones. Read on for the top three tips in finding the right toys for kids.

Tip #1: Safety always comes first.

Toys, first and foremost, must be safe for kids to play with. Consider toys that are age-appropriate so it will be easier for you to identify the different health hazards.

Toys with small, detachable parts are dangerous for very small children who might swallow and choke on them. Also, avoid giving pointed toys to small kids. Children like running around and pointed objects can cause serious accidents. While bigger children can already play with toys made of very tough materials, opt for softer, flexible toys for tiny tots.

Steer clear of toys that have harmful chemicals. Many small kids like putting things into their mouth that is why toys must always be free of poisonous substances. When a toy is coated with paint, make sure that the paint is non-toxic.

Tip #2: Think of the toy’s developmental value.

Find toys that are both entertaining and developmental. Such toys help kids improve their mental, motor, and social skills. Educational toys sharpen kids’ minds as they play and encourage them to think critically and logically. Arts and crafts help youngsters express themselves and practice their creativity. Toys for kids that involve movement, like toddler cubes and magnetic games, practice children’s motor skills.

Look for toys that teach children the value of self-reliance, teamwork and sharing. Playing is a great family bonding activity, and it becomes even more so with toys that develop children’s knowledge, attitudes, and practices.

Tip #3: Make sure you get value for your money.

Finding the right toys involves getting items that will last a long time. Go for quality instead of quantity. Look for toys that are made of durable materials that will not easily tear or break. Durable toys are great picks because they can be passed on to younger family members. Additionally, choose toys that can hold children’s interest and attention so they will be played with often.

Do not make a beeline for the most expensive toys because a heavy price tag does not always assure quality. Also think twice when hoarding toys that are on sale. Cheap toys that are made of inferior materials can get destroyed quickly and are not really bargains in the long run. Good finds are toys for kids that will give you your money’s worth.

Play the harlot in the Quran:

The expression of Play the Harlot or Play the Whore is never mentioned in the Quran.

However, the Quran says that:

leave them playing, until they encounter the Day of Judgment.

Surah: 70, Verse: 42

So leave them alone to plunge and play, until they encounter the Day which they are promised;

Avoid those who take their religion as playing.

Surah: 6, Verse: 70

avoid those who take their religion as playing and an amusement and are seduced by the life of this world. admonish them hereby lest a soul be taken by what it has gained, for it has no guardian or intercessor before Allah, and though it offers every ransom, it shall not be taken from it. those are they who are taken for that which they earned. for them a drink of boiling water, a stern punishment for their disbelief.

The life of this world is nothing but a play. while the Everlasting Residence is the Eternal Life, if they but knew.

Surah: 29, Verse: 64

The life of this world is nothing but a diversion and play. Indeed, the Everlasting Residence is the Eternal Life, if they but knew.

The Israelites’ Play in the Quran:

The first Israelite was Jacob.

Jacob’s name had been changed to Israel

It follows that Jacob’s sons are the first Israelites in the History. They were 12 Israelites and are the root of the 12 Israelites’ tribes.

Herein, we will see what the first ten Israelites had done to their brother and father!

Ten out of these 12 Israelites took Joseph to get rid of him after convincing their father Israel (Jacob) that they want to play with their brother!

The only problem of Joseph in the eyes of the 10 Israelites was that Jacob loved him very much.

That is it!

Surah: 12, Verse: 7-12

[7] Indeed, in Joseph and his brothers there were signs for those who inquire.

[8] They said: ‘Joseph and his brother are dearer to our father than ourselves, even though we are many. Truly, our father is obviously wrong.

[9] (Let us) kill Joseph, or cast him away in some (far off) land, so that your father’s face will be left for you, and afterwards you will be a righteous nation. ‘

[10] One of them said: ‘no, do not kill Joseph, if you do anything, cast him into a dark pit, a traveler will pick him up. ‘

[11] They said: ‘father, what is the matter with you, do you not trust us with Joseph? Indeed, we are sincere advisors.

[12] Send him with us tomorrow to frolic and play. We will look after him. ‘

[13] He said: ‘it grieves me to let him go with you, for i fear lest the wolf should devour him when you are not paying attention to him. ‘

[14] They said: ‘we are many, if a wolf devours him, then we are losers! ‘

[15] When they went with him, they agreed to put him in the bottom of a well. we revealed to him: ‘you shall tell them of what they did when they are not aware (it is you). ‘

[16] At nightfall, they returned weeping to their father.

[17] They said: ‘we went racing and left Joseph with our things. the wolf devoured him, but you will not believe us, though we speak the truth. ‘

[18] And they brought his shirt (stained) with blood, a lie. he said: ‘no, your souls have tempted you to do something. but come sweet patience! the help of Allah is always there to seek against that which you describe. ‘

The Israelites said ‘Allah has never sent down anything to a mortal (Mohammad), the Quran replies: ‘who, then sent down the book which Moses brought?

Surah: 6, Verse: 91

QARIB: they have not valued Allah with his true value, when they said ‘Allah has never sent down anything to a mortal. ‘Say: ‘who, then sent down the book which Moses brought, a light and guidance for people? You put it on to parchments, revealing them and hiding much, you have now been taught what neither you nor your fathers knew before! ‘Say: ‘Allah. ‘Then leave them, playing in their plunging.

SHAKIR: and they do not assign to Allah the attributes due to him when they say: Allah has not revealed anything to a mortal. say: who revealed the book which Moses brought, a light and a guidance to men, which you make into scattered writings which you show while you conceal much? and you were taught what you did not know, (neither) you nor your fathers. Say: Allah then leave them playing in their vain discourses.

PICKTHAL: and they measure not the power of Allah its true measure when they say: Allah hath naught revealed unto a human being. say (unto the Jews who speak thus): who revealed the book which Moses brought, a light and guidance for mankind, which ye have put on parchments which ye show, but ye hide much (thereof), and (by which) ye were taught that which ye knew not yourselves nor (did) your fathers (know it)? Say: Allah. Then leave them to their play of cavilling.

YUSUFALI: no just estimate of Allah do they make when they say: “nothing doth Allah send down to man (by way of revelation)” say: “who then sent down the book which Moses brought?- a light and guidance to man: but ye make it into (separate) sheets for show, while ye conceal much (of its contents): therein were ye taught that which ye knew not- neither ye nor your fathers.” say: “Allah (sent it down)”: then leave them to plunge in vain discourse and trifling.

Life and Play in the Quran:

Allah does not create the heavens and the earth in Play!

Surah: 21, Verse: 16

It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them.

Surah: 44, Verse: 38

It was not in play that We (Allah) created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them.

Our life is nothing but a diversion and play; however, the Afterlife is the Eternal one!

Surah: 29, Verse: 64

The life of this world is nothing but a diversion and play. Indeed, the everlasting residence is the eternal life, if they but knew.

We are playing in this life; however, the Afterlife is the better Eternal home for those who understand!

Surah: 6, Verse: 32

The life of this world is but playing and an amusement. Surely, the everlasting home is better for the cautious. Will you not understand?

Surah: 47, Verse: 36

The life of this world is but play and an amusement. if you believe and are cautious, He will give you your wage, and will not ask for your possessions.

Surah: 57, Verse: 20

Know that the life of this world is but play and an amusement, and adornment, and a cause for boasting among you, a rivalry for greater riches and children. it is like rain whose vegetation pleases the unbelievers, but then it withers and turns yellow, becoming broken stubble. in the everlasting life is a terrible punishment, forgiveness, and great pleasure from Allah. the life of this world is nothing except the joy of delusion.

Another translation of the verse (57:20):

Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. here is a similitude: how rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. but in the hereafter is a penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). and forgiveness from Allah and (his) good pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). and what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?
