How Do You Clean A Stuffed Toy, The Furry/hairy Kind Without Ruining Its Softness Or Furry Texture?

This is a white polar bear stuffed toy. It’s the regular kind of soft, hairy stuffed toy. I want to wash it. I tried to see what washing will do so I tried to wet the ears part, the fur got all curly and seemed to stick together. I have a lot more of these to clean. Any kind of suggestions would help. Thanks!

Label says NOT to machine wash/dry. How do I remove a stain?
I was thinking of putting the toy in either a lingerie bag or pillowcase & washing on delicate handwash cycle of machine & drying in dryer on air/low for a few minutes & then air dry.
If you have any suggestions other than this, please help me out.
Would carpet cleaner or something similar work?

What Is The Toy Advertised On The Saturday Cartoons That Is A Tower Where You Can Grow Stuffed Animals Inside?

My son asked for this toy for the holidays but all he can tell me about it is that it is a tower where you do something to it every day and then a stuffed animal grows inside it and eventually pops out. It was also described as “tall”. It is on the commercials during the Saturday morning cartoons on WB - I think during Dinosaur King. What is the name of the product so I can buy it for him? Thanks!
