Serious Question: What Is A Really Good Book For Self Improvement?

January 20th, 2010 by admin | 2 Comments | Filed in self improvement

I am looking into refining my personality and habits that I wish I didn’t have. Certain things and ways I treat people, I don’t want to do them anymore. I just want to be aware of certain things and have an effective way of changing certain things that I don’t find appealing.
Please state the name of the book and How it helped you and Why you feel it is a great choice.
Thanks again for reading this, and thank you if you decide to reply.

Self Improvement & Success

December 29th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in self improvement

Everything that happens to us happens in purpose. And sometimes, one thing leads to another. Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success.

I remember watching Patch Adams – its my favorite movie, actually. Its one great film that will help you improve yourself. Hunter “patch” Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts – he decided to seek for medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward. His months of stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people. Sick people in that matter. He met a catatonic, a mentally retarded, a schizophrenic and so on. Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realized he has to get back on track. He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pains he has gone through, he still want to become the a doctor. He carries with himself a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn’t only improved himself, but also the life of the people around him and the quality of life. Did he succeed? Needless to say, he became the best damn doctor his country has ever known.

So, when does self improvement become synonymous with success? Where do we start? Take these tips, friends…

*Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure, because you’re not. How can others accept you if YOU can’t accept YOU?

*When you see hunks and models on TV, think more on self improvement, not self pitying. Self acceptance is not just about having nice slender legs, or great abs. Concentrate on inner beauty.

*When people feel so down and low about themselves, help them move up. Don’t go down with them. They’ll pull you down further and both of you will end up feeling inferior.

*The world is a large room for lessons, not mistakes. Don’t feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed on a science quiz. There’s always a next time. Make rooms for self improvement.

*Take things one at a time. You don’t expect black sheep’s to be goody-two-shoes in just a snap of a finger. Self improvement is a one day at a time process.

*Self improvement results to inner stability, personality development and dig this …. SUCCESS. It comes from self confidence, self appreciation and self esteem.

* Set meaningful and achievable goals. Self improvement doesn’t turn you to be the exact replica of Cameron Diaz or Ralph Fiennes. It hopes and aims to result to an improved and better YOU.

*Little things mean BIG to other people. Sometimes, we don’t realize that the little things that we do like a pat on the back, saying “hi” or “hello”, greeting someone “good day” or telling Mr. Smith something like “hey, I love your tie!” are simple things that mean so much to other people. When we’re being appreciative about beautiful things around us and other people, we also become beautiful to them.

*When you’re willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, it doesn’t mean that everyone else is. The world is a place where people of different values and attitude hang out. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time, she would most likely decline an invitation for self improvement.

We should always remember that there’s no such thing as ‘over night success’. Its always a wonderful feeling to hold on to the things that you already have now, realizing that those are just one of the things you once wished for. A very nice quote says that “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” We are all here to learn our lessons. Our parents, school teachers, friends, colleagues, officemates, neighbors… they are our teachers. When we open our doors for self improvement, we increase our chances to head to the road of success.

What Self Help/improvement Books Had Most Positive Effect For Your Desired Goals And Changes?

December 11th, 2009 by admin | 6 Comments | Filed in self improvement

After seeing Larry King’s show last night on “The Secret” I am interested in what other people have read regarding self improvement for gaining more success and life fulfillment. The Secret to me seems to be repetitive as far as other self help methods plus “Law of Attraction” principles written about from everyone Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, Norman V Peal, The Magic of Believing and of course the Bible is filled with “ask and ye shall receive.” Of course things aren’t always that simple for everyone, especially that people’s mind sets are unique and what works for one doesn’t necessarily work beneficially to others. There are so many self help method books and DVD’s out there now, so I would like to see what you guys have used that made real life changing breakthroughs and helped improve your finances, relationships, goals, jobs, whatever

Strait-Line 6041300CD Intersect 1/8-Inch at 15-Feet Self Leveling Crossed Line Laser

Strait-Line’s claim that this is “the most capable laser level ever built” is an invitation to skepticism, but folks, after spending a little time with this model, we think it’s true. Yes, there are other laser levels on the market that project both a horizontal and vertical line, but we’ve never seen one that lets you access the exact point of intersection—-this one does, so every job gets off to a flawless start. And flawless it is, because the Intersect self-levels within 8 degrees on a vertical surface. All you have to do is attach it to the wall (more on that in a minute) as close to vertical as you can, and Strait-Line’s amazing technology projects perfectly level and plumb lines with zero guesswork for a 30 foot tot [Read More...]

The Things That you Have to Do to Self Improve yourself

November 29th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in self improvement

Self Improvement:When your looking to improve yourself in the best possible way ever.

You ever have to deal with something or someone that would force you to improve yourself? Well, it is so real because in life, things happen for a reason. You just have to find out what that reason is and sometimes we’re forced to deal with certain obstacles in life that would force us to self improve ourselves. Most people have low self-esteem to a point where they want to kill themselves or just plain let themselves go altogether without a care in the world whatsoever. I once had a friend who told me that she was sad all the time and Wanted to kill herself. I felt very sad for her and kindly told her that everything was going to be just fine. She didn’t quite understand when I told her this and I kindly told her that the point that I’m getting to is that in life, you’ll have to face certain obstacles some good and some bad. But when the road gets rocky and you feel beaten down and you feel like the world is coming to an end. You’ll need to look over that particular obstacle and still go on because life goes on and you sure can’t turn back time, but what you can do is change any situation around for the better, and self improve yourself.

Ways to self-improve yourself:

-Read spirituality books such as: Self Improvement

-Exercise your body, mind, and soul

-Find a hobby

-Eat right and get enough rest

-Build up self-esteem

-If you’re not happy with the way you look, you should get a make-over

-Do things to keep you occupied

-Weigh out the positive and the negatives

(meaning the pros and the cons)

-Look beyond the past and focus on the future:

-Surround yourself with positive people that can lift your spirits and rid yourself from all the negative energy that’s keeping you from moving on and living your life.

And last but not least:

-Always believe in god because prayer works.

Know this:

Time can’t ever be replaced, but you can replace things that will help you self-improve your life.

In order to self-improve yourself, you should have faith in your life into bettering yourself. When you self-improve you are actually overcoming things that happened in your lifetime that really beat you down in the worst way, and caused you to bounce back and help you get yourself together. This is usually called self-recovery!

One can’t remain sane unless he/she has positive friends to lift your spirits and make you feel good about yourself. But most importantly, you should believe in yourself and build up self-esteem.

Remember: If you don’t think highly of yourself, then nobody else will. Never worry about anyone but yourself except family and close friends.

Because in life, when we fall down we must pick ourselves back up.

VIP:

Self Improvement can come a long way especially if you’re willing to improve yourself in the best possible way ever.

ex: education and employment

-You can always self-improve when it comes to education because remember some education is better than none because a lot of doors can open for you allowing you to go far and definitely with employment because some money is better than no money and you can get a lot of things done with cash in your pocket. you can never be too happy if you’re broke all the time.

You ever see a woman who has a lot of confidence in herself and all she does is walk around with her head up high and smiling? Well, you might be wondering why she is so happy? Well, most likely, this particular person probably had a rough life or had to face obstacles that she was forced to deal with which led her in the right path to self improvement.

Remember: what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger

Self improvement: Can one really self-improve for themselves or for others!
