My lab will run up and bite, gently, my mix’s neck. He’ll try a couple of times until the mix starts playing too or he makes it clear he has no interest in playing.
The mix starts play by bringing a toy/stick over the lab and sticks it in his face until he’ll join in tug of war.
I find it interesting that they both have such differently styles of intiating play….I’m interested to hear how your own dog tells another dog he is wanting to play.
