How Much Cpu Power Is Enough For A Netbook Or Laptop?

January 7th, 2010 by admin | Filed under technie stuff.

I know about Core 2 Duo. I have Quad Core on my PC. But that’s about it.
For a netbook, or a small laptop, how much Intel do you need? There are so many different models and classes, I can’t tell.
I need enough CPU to have several IE windows open, handle a fast internet connection, and use Word and Excel. Also, the ability to watch streaming video and audio would be nice, but not necessary.

Many people have a GPS and love it while other are left asking,

1.8 Ghz is usually enough for a laptop as long as it is not a celeron, when you go higher the battery life gets a hammering.

most of those netbooks are XP FAT32 setup, but will run windows 7, you go with what they got as a CPU, and if your going to run on battery you have to sacrifice performance to get longevity from your battery, so do the math or run on power all the time? 2 - 10 hours on battery if that they are a smaller battery.

technically, even the super amazing Intel Core i7 which is the fastest right now would have a hard time doing all you want to do if you lack in memory.
youd need 4gb of memory and a processor running at 2.3 GHz +
try to find a processor with black edition.

1.6 GHz of Atom processor that’s all you need.
