How Do Dogs Know When They Got A New Toy/treat?
February 26th, 2010 by admin | Filed under toys.Before it’s even out of the store bag, how is it possible? These past 2 weeks I have brought bags home with a toy or 2 in it.. The dogs will smell it and start going nuts! Wagging their tail, barking at me to “hurry up” and an occasional cry of joy. Same thing with treat bags. Btw, I only buy them toys once a month or so.
How do the dogs know that the thing in the bag is their new toy? Do your dogs do this?

I believe dog and cat toys contain an animal specific aroma that they can smell before you pull into the driveway.
Most dogs are smart, and they can smell the new toy. It is like when you go look at a brand new car, and you open the door for the first time, and smell the leather inside.
