Economic Stimulus: Which Social Security Number Does The Irs Use To Determine The Date It Is Sent?

The rebate payment will equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals.
IRS began the transfer economic stimulus payments from April 28, 2008, and many have already seen the payments in their bank accounts. Those who opted for direct deposit will be the first to get the rebate. Mailing of paper check will begin from May 16. Those with last two digits of SSN between 88 to 99 will get paper check after July 4, 2008.

Economic stimulus payments will be issued according to the last two-digits of the main filer’s Social Security number. For joint filers, the payments will go out based on the person listed first on the return. Payments will be made by either direct deposit or paper check, consistent with how people filed their 2007 tax return
