Can You Play Against Others Online Via Xbox Live Silver In Gears Of War 2?

I currently only have one game, Gears of War 2, and i was wondering if i could play against others online with just silver and not gold.

No, Silver is only for Downloading Demos, Downloadable content for games, Trailers for games, and Movies. Xbox Live Gold is for Playing games online and costs $50 for year. So in conclusion, Xbox Live Silver is for Downloading content and going on Xbox Live while Gold is for playing games online, like Halo 3 or Gears of War 2.
No you cannot, silver only allows you to talk with friends. To play with friends you have to have gold. However, you get a free month of gold when you buy an xbox if its a new xbox. The answer is a sad no.
yeah you need a gold membership but you can easily go to a gamestop or any place that sells xbox 360 items and buy a 1 month pre-paid membership card for $7.99. thats what i do.
Is Gears 2 an MMO? Let me give you a hint, there aren’t any MMOs on XBOX 360 other then Final Fantasy 11, and you need XBOX Live Gold for that.
